Perfect for My Betta Nano Tank!
The first heater I purchased for my nano betta tank was okay, but it wasn’t adjustable and, with the low-current filter required by bettas, it didn’t seem to heat the tank adequately. This hygger Submersible Aquarium Heater is far superior. Here’s why:~ Small enough for my nano tank, without taking up a huge amount of space.~ Adjustable, which is important for low-current betta tanks.~ 2 Suction Cups are reasonably effective at keeping the heater in place, provided I don’t tug on the power cord too much. I have had to go in and re-activate the suction on occasion, but not inordinately. They also enable me to position the heater vertically, horizontally, or at an angle, which is what I’ve found ideal.~ Large external digital display/adjusting panel located along the power cord is easy to see from across the room, shows me how often the heater turns on and helps me to determine whether I need to tweak the adjustment if it’s not maintaining the optimal temps. For instance, for bettas, 78° – 80° is optimal and I’ve found that keeping the thermostat temp at 79° is perfect.~ Super long power cord with a wall plug gives me more latitude in determining where to place my tank. In my situation, I didn’t need it as long, so I just wound up the excess, positioned the digital display so that I could see it from anywhere in the room, and fit it in place with zip ties.~ Because my betta’s tank has a black glass back panel, the color of the heater matches it enough that it disappears from view and doesn’t mess with the tank aesthetic.I’ve been using this hygger Submersible Aquarium Heater for a couple months now, and find it to be durable, reliable, and of good value for the money. I also have a really nice LED aquarium light panel by hygger that I absolutely love, so I recommend this company’s products highly!

I have this currently keeping a 10 gallon planted tank warm. It’s kept at 74 degrees and I’ve had zero fluctuations in temperature since installing this. It’s well made, and I love that it doesn’t get too hot, as I have khuli loaches that hide underneath of this heater during the day and they seem to love this thing. It’s not as thing as other hygger heaters have, but it’s pretty easy to hide in the substrate and it’s not an eye sore on the exposed side.It’s small and compact, and placement is easier than some more popular brands.Suction is great too!

Outside digital control makes these heaters more precise and reliable.
I have several other pieces of equipment from Hygger, including aquarium lights and air pumps. The quality of this heater is good. It has a clear display that is easily adjusted, and the heater mount is very good. Having the control with a digital display outside of the tank, and you can see the heat setting with a glance. Also, these heaters are a good price for each wattage range.All my heaters now have the controls outside of the water. I will never buy another heater that has the controls in the heater itself. I have had nothing but problems with those because water will always get into the heater through the control knob and ruin it. There is no way to make the heater watertight. These heaters, with outside digital controls just work. I have yet to have one of these fail on me – not to say that they can’t, but I have been using these for several years now in some of my tanks and they have worked flawlessly.
