Great tool, a little hairy during the grooming process though
This de-shedder works so much better than those wire slicker brushes I’ve always used for my cats. I’ve got a short-hair and a long-hair. This works great for both. It doesn’t damage their coats at all.Short-Hair Cat:The slicker brushes and the rubber ones never got much from my short-haired cat leaving hands, clothes, and furniture covered in little orange hairs. This de-shedding tool gets enough off of him that it has dramatically decreased how much loose hair ends up everywhere from him. He also hated being groomed by every other brush or tool I’ve tried, but this this barely bothered him at all – he was apprehensive at first, as he often is of new things, but once he sniffed it and inspected it he let me groom him just fine.Long-Hair Cat:The wire slicker brushes had decent luck with my long-haired cat, but they always caused his fur to become static-y. I’d groom him and he’d look worse than he did before I brushed him. This tool left his coat much softer than a slicker brush ever has, and got more hair from him. While not totally static-free, there was far less of it with this comb. It also seems to irritate his skin much less than other grooming tools have, as his dandruff has improved with the use of this comb. Also, he loved being groomed with this. Purring and sleepy-eyed the whole time.Why 4 Stars?I docked this comb by one star because it gets the hair everywhere as it’s combing it out. The comb doesn’t trap the hair very well, beyond a small amount, which you have to pull from the tines by hand and pile up, where it will hopefully not drift off or get everywhere before you’re done grooming. There was so much more hair flying around when I combed my cats with this tool than there is with a brush… but again, it also worked better at actually de-shedding.Overall:Absolutely a good investment, especially at the ~$15 it was when I bought it considering other similar tools can run $30+.

Gets the job done
We have 2 large, high shedding dogs with undercoats. There is no shedding season with them either, so daily brushings are pretty much guaranteed.We were using a wider toothed brush and it just wasn’t capturing all that extra fluff that continued to end up on our floor and furniture. This brush tool does a wonderful job at raking out the undercoat with pulling out the top hairs. Our dogs don’t particularly like it, but they are annoyed with any type of grooming. The teeth are quite fine though and do not cause them any harm. Now in about 30 minutes, we can de-fluff them substantially. It’s amazing how much hair continues to come out even with frequent grooming!My only “negative” is that you have to empty the hair out of the teeth quite frequently of and only get a stroke in or two before it’s full, but this is to be expected with our dogs’ coats. I’m really happy with it overall – even though they aren’t!

An absolutely marvellous bit of kit. I bought this in a desperate attempt to stop my dog moulting like a badly made carpet, and to my astonishment it works brilliantly. One gentle brush and out came enough fur to knit a second dog, possibly a small ottoman.Well made, comfortable to use, and alarmingly effective. The dog tolerated it with the weary dignity of a hotel guest enduring poor service, while I stood there peeling off enough loose fluff to fill a mattress.Excellent quality, sturdy, easy to clean, and has reduced the amount of hair in my house from “wild moorland tumbleweed” to merely “minor incident.” Splendid. Would absolutely recommend to anyone living with a four-legged shedding machine.

This 2 in 1 brush comes with a descending brush and a dematting rake. The size of the brush is ideal for dogs but can also be used on cats, especially the deshedding brush. I have 3 cats and while I thankfully only need the dematting rake occasionally it’s handy to have and the deshedding brush is used regularly as it makes a huge difference by getting all the fur out at once so there is a lot less shedding. The brush also has grips on the side so it’s easy to grasp and adjust how you’re holding it without dropping it.The deshedding brush is incredibly effective and I like to use it in one hand and a slicker brush or rubber brush in the other to grab all the fur. The more pressure you apply the more fur comes out but you don’t want to apply too much pressure so it’s still enjoyable for the animal. If you can do it outside it makes cleanup a lot easier as you will get a lot of fur, especially the first time you use it. With regular use it reduced the amount of shedding quite significantly.The dematting brush is a curved blade where the outer edge is blunt and the inner edge is sharp. It allows you to get behind the mat and cut it into smaller sections without hurting too much. It does pull a little but you can use your hand to hold the fur a bit and reduce how much it pulls. Once the mats are cut into smaller sections it usually gives you more room behind them so you can start to comb them out or just cut them out. If you want to comb them out consider also getting a good dematting spray. My cat had a mat on his bum that wasn’t bad but needed to be addressed and this allowed me to quickly and gently cut it out before it became a bigger problem.I would highly recommend this brush and it’s well built so I expect this will last a long time as well as getting a lot of use.
