I’m really like this aquarium water test kit. The strips are easy to use, just dip and wait a moment, then read the results. Everything is clear and straightforward, even if you’re new to aquarium care. It also comes with a generous amount of test strips, so it’s going to last me a long time. I tested these with my api tester and results were about the same. Only tested ammonia n nitrites but that’s most important to me.

They aren’t accurate and stink of chlorine
These read low across the board, but egregiously so on pH and alkalinity. I’m guessing they’ve spent a few years sitting on a shelf and have simply degraded, but the results I got out of them made zero sense, so took a water sample in for a professional lab analysis and out of 10 strips I used, every single one was off by at least 1 increment, some off by 2.They smell like they were bathed in chlorine, too. After using a single strip, I smelled like I had just shocked a pool with my bare hands.If there’s a local aquarium shop nearby, just support them. The guys at the one near me provided a much more accurate testing kit and helped me make the adjustments I needed to make for a healthy tank community.

Smell awful but work great.
Quick and easy way to check your aquarium water. They smell terrible, leave that scent on your hand and it takes several washes and a few hours for the smell to go away. Wearing gloves while testing still didn’t stop the smell from permeating into my fingers. Be cautious if you are sensitive to smells.

So much easier than the liquid kit. Seems accurate! Less playing with chemicals and shaking.I have a baby so I don’t have time to be testing tons of water parameters with the liquid tests

I got these strips as an easy way to measure multiple parameters, instead of having to use my api master test kit… What a mistake!!Before refilling my tank during a water change, I tested the water. 4 strips, all showed a pH around 6.2 or lower. Panicking, and knowing the water out of my tap is ~7.6 pH, I did several water changes to try and bring the pH back up. Obviously, not the best thing for nano fish and shrimp, water parameters need to stay as stable as possible, but low pH will kill them faster.It turns out, my tank water was stable at ~7.6, have a look at the pic showing the test strip pH beside the api master test kit at ~7.6. I removed all the stable water from my tank because of these strips! A total of 6 amano shrimp are dead, along with 10 embers.These are garbage. They’re not accurate, and the stink on your hands and in the air after opening the container lasts for hours. Save your money, get an api master test kit. You’ll at least get accurate values for the parameters you can test.
