Perfect for Dwarf Hamsters!
This is the only Dwarf hamster food we feed our three dwarf chinese hamsters. Because they are so small, they really do need dwarf food instead of regular hamster food. Not just because of the size but the amount of nutrients in the food they get. The price for the Vitakraft Dwarf Hamster food on Amazon is the same as it is in our local pet store and by ordering through Amazon, it is delivered right to my door for convenience!

Since we’re on a pandemic. I had to buy this food for my best friend here on amazon because she couldn’t go out. She usually buy her hamster’s food at pet stores because she’s scared of the bug infestation. Since she doesn’t have a choice, she had to ask me to buy the food online. Of course, She did her research and she said that before giving any hamster food to your furry friends you must freeze It for 24 hours. This method kills potential bugs. After 24 hours, you should put it in a air tight container. It depends on you if you want to store the food in the freezer or just put it in your pantry for your pets. My best friend is very knowledgeable with hamster care. You can ask her on her instagram account @ArtpandastiqueWe definitely recommend this brand because it’s very nutritious to your hamsters. Just don’t forget to do the freezing method.By the way the brand’s look is different from what’s shown here on amazon, but it’s cool! I like the new look of this product.

Seems perfect from our dwarf hammies
As first-time dwarf hamster owners, we are glad to have found this product. We had gotten the regular formula from the pet store not knowing that there was a different one for dwarfs. They actually did seem to be getting too fat on the regular food and seem a healthier weight now. I will say that they don’t love the pellet parts but I think that’s true in general so I don’t refill their bowl until it looks like they’ve eaten some of those too.

My dwarf hamsters favorite
This food is a really great mix for our dwarf hamster! We add in fresh veggies and meal worms for protein. The only part of this mix our hamsters won’t eat is the kibble parts, but it’s so much diff seeds a pea flakes and things. Healthy and worth the money

Good food but our Hammie picks out the good stuff
No problems with the food, it came fast and our hammie likes it. But she does pick out the bits she likes and eats those first…. She likes the seeds a lot. The black sunflower seeds are the first to go. She eats the rest… but very slowly. So I generally but more food in her cage before it is all out. I got an Oxbow formula and will be using this for a treat or mix in with other food.

I bought my 2 dwarf hamsters about 3 months ago, one was very skinny and one was highly overweight. I am a new small pet owner so I started out with regular hammie food and noticed that they were both starting to get overweight and more sluggish after a month with the regular food (probably because the sugary corn and large seeds) I switched to this about 3 weeks ago and already they both look trim and more healthy. They have more energy, and for a bonus they climb their cage in excitement as I pour it into their dish! It makes me happy that they give this product 5 stars too. 😉

My hamsters refuse to eat the tiny pellets but they hate those in all the hamster mixes
Cannot beat the price. I mix in additional rolled oats and rye flakes and some nuts (almonds, walnuts or peanuts). My hamsters refuse to eat the tiny pellets but they hate those in all the hamster mixes.I would suggest to manufacturer to change the recipe for the pellets and also to make them bigger, which is good for the hamsters’ teeth to knaw on them with their teeth. These pellets are ridiculously tiny.

This is my hamster’s favorite food!
My hamster loves this food. I’ve done a fair bit of reading up on what food to feed my robo hamster, and was reluctant to purchase this food. Between this food and oxbow hamster food (which is highly recommended by small mammal enthusiasts), my hamster consistently ate this food first. It is not typically the only food I feed her (I mix in the oxbow) but is definitely what she prefers, and she has been very healthy. I have had her for over two years, and that is well past a typical robo’s life expectancy. Again, I would not use this as the only feed offered, but it’s definitely the most exciting.
