Algae can be a common issue for any home aquarium, often caused by direct sunlight on the tank or excess nutrients. Tetra® No More Algae® tablets remove existing aquarium algae and control the growth of new algae in your tank. These tablets leave aquarium water crystal clear, and they work great in both glass and acrylic aquariums! Each pack contains 8 ready-to-use tablets, and will treat up to 80 gallons. Tetra No More Algae helps inhibit the growth of many types of algae in freshwater aquariums, including suspended algae blooms and algae that grow on the sides of glass and acrylic tanks. For regular maintenance, use once a month or as algae growth starts to appear. For best results, if algae are already present on sides of aquarium, wipe clean before treating. Use one tablet for each 10 gallons (40 liters) of aquarium water. Repeat treatment when algae growth begins to appear. Do not use in tanks with live plants, snails or other invertebrates. Remove carbon from your filter during use. Not for use in soft and/or acid water with low alkalinity. Since 1951, Tetra has developed the world’s most comprehensive body of fish food knowledge, and fishkeeping enthusiasts have looked to the brand for products and solutions that add ease and beauty to their home. Whether you’re an experienced hobbyist or just starting out, Tetra has everything you need–-from a large variety of quality fish food and innovative equipment to test kits and decor.

Algae tablets
Works great keeps tank clear

Might be delayed – but works!
I bought this when I had a severe algal bloom that nothing was getting rid of (water changes, environment changes, blocking out light, reducing light, etc). With this as my last option, I purchased because it was cheap and I had nothing left to lose. There’s really no… instructions on a proper way to use this aside from the amount. I was worried about just dropping the tablets into my tank (didn’t want my fish to peck at them as they fizzed) so I saw reviews saying to take a cup of water from the aquarium, place the tabs in there and let dissolve and then add the water back and that’s what I did. After the first week I didn’t notice much of a change at all and decided to try another dose once it was safe to. After /another/ week there was still no change and I thought it was a dud. Then slowly but surely I noticed the water getting clearer. The plants not being covered in algae – the decorations a completely different color because for ONCE they weren’t coating in a layer of algal slime.Fast forward 3 months later? My tank is still SPOTLESS. There isn’t a speck of algae in this tank, the aquarium pebbles are shiny and colorful like they’re brand new, my decorations are like brand new. I haven’t had to add more tablets or anything. So – despite the fact I thought for sure this was useless, it’s actually been a saving grace and the best choice I could have made for my tank. I had five fish (2 dalmatian mollies and 3 skirt tetras, one of which is 7 years old) and not a single one got sick or died or showed any irritation from this product either. If your tank is a mess of algae, give this a shot and be patient.

Worked for our fish tank!
We have a well established 3.5 year old freshwater 10 gallon fish tank. We didn’t have any algae problems until we went away on vacation and I used these feeding tablets. So even though I thoroughly have cleaned the tank every few months, the brownish orangey algae still comes back. I didn’t want to use chemicals that could harm the fish but was desperate – who wants to look at a dirty fish tank (note water was clear, this algae would form along walls of tank and on the bottom). Anyway, I have 4 neon tetras, a snail, platy, 2 cory catfish. I did not want them to die so I took the following precautions: removed snail and kept him in a separate cup during the cleaning process, did a 25% water change and removed carbon filter, wiped the sides of the tank with a cloth carefully to remove what I could, got a cup of the tank water, added the tablet, mixed it up and added to the tank. I let this do its work for almost 12 hours (just wanted to be sure it really had a chance to work), added a fresh carbon filter, let that cycle overnight, and then I added my snail back. I monitored the fish for any signs that they were not tolerating the chemicals. They all looked fine throughout. The tank was clear of algae by the time I was done and seems to be getting better every day. This stuff is a miracle and I plan to do this every 2 months or so to keep it up or perhaps as needed if I see it come back. None of my fish were harmed and my fish tank looks great – 5 stars for this stuff!!! You must follow instructions carefully for it to work and for the protection of your fish/snails…

This stuff really does an excellent job of helping me clean up my tank. I’ve posted pros & cons below to help make your decision simple.Pros1) It’s cheap2) It makes my tank look great, and does a good job of getting rid of algae3) It doesn’t change the color of my waterCons1) I don’t like that you have to remove the carbon filtration2) I wish there were more tablets in the box. This box treats 80 gallons of water. Just depends on how much you need3) I’m not 100% sure of how safe this product is for the fish. This may sound ridiculous, because my fish look fine, but I wonder if this increases their likelihood of getting cancer, or other diseases long term. The box does say the product is a known carcinogen to the state of California. And there are a bunch of scary warnings on the back about how it’s illegal to use it for any other purposes than as described on the packaging. I guess they don’t want you to poison people with it? It hasn’t killed any of my fish though.Other helpful info: Usually takes a week before the full effect kicks in. Also, only seems to clear my aquarium for a month or two. Guess if you leave the lights on too long, the algae always is gonna find it’s way back.Overall, when I’m looking to rid my aquarium of algae, this is my go to product. I highly recommend this product, and hope you’ll be happy with it just as I have.
