Not worth the headache
This fish tank is possibly one of the most frustrating pieces of equipment I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Here are my main issues:1) The instructions – these are conflicting and reference things that don’t exist (like “keep water levels between the min and max markings”… but the tank doesn’t actually have water level markings?! Which is its own issue as the filter seems to be VERY particular about the water level).2) The filter – this is incredibly difficult to set up. The instructions consist of a few blurry photos and omits even the most basic of details. It also came with two extra pieces that don’t belong on it (I only know this because I had to write to the seller 3 times before they confirmed ‘those are not needed’). Guess they just wanted to throw customers off the trail even further. Once you finally get the filter set up, you almost wish you hadn’t because it’s a cheap plastic box that hangs off the back – vibrating against the tank – and it creates a loud hum that you can’t fix with even the most careful leveling/balancing.3) The lid – the listing photos don’t show the lid (for good reason) as it’s an extremely cheap, hideous piece of white plastic with rough edges and no way to secure it to the tank. It also doesn’t have an easy way to drop food into the tank so you have to sort of get a small spoon or something with the food on it and try to wiggle that between the light and the plastic without bumping either.4) The ‘leveling mat’ – this is just a thin piece of fabric that wasn’t even cut with straight lines so no matter how diligently you attempt to arrange it, you’re stuck with what *looks like* a poorly cut piece of construction paper sticking out from under the tank.I could go on but this is making me mad all over again. My fish almost died while I was trying to figure out the filter (I.e. waiting for the seller to finally respond back with even more conflicting info). Anyway I’ve confirmed the tank has now been constructed as intended and instead of what I hoped for (a nice clear 5 gallon tank) I have a cheap, loud, difficult tank that will have to do until I have the time and patience to buy a replacement.

Love the tank, filter doesn’t work
I got the 5 gallon tank and it’s beautiful ! Truly such a great tank. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the filter isn’t working. It turns on but it’s not moving the water. I watched the video on how to put it together and I think I did everything right. I don’t know what I’m going to do 🙁
