Food critic approved!
So I got this grain free, wet cat food for my kitties. It is the easiest way to make your cat feel like they have a private chef, different flavors so they don’t get bored, and a texture that actually gets eaten instead of stared at like an insult. The ingredient list feels cleaner than a lot of budget cans, it doesn’t have that overly funky mystery, pate, smell, and the proportions are convenient for quick meals without wasting half a can. My cat was noticeably more interested at meal time meaning she had less dramatic, protesting, and more enthusiastic chomping, and I love having options on hand for piggy days. Five stars because it’s a variety pack that delivers variety and approval from the tiny, furry food critic who runs my house!

Picky Eater Approved and Looks Like High Quality
We tried the Optimeal Grain-Free Wet Cat Food Variety Pack with my cat Korra, and her first reaction (in my video) says it all—she was curious right away and went in for that first bite with no hesitation.I like being mindful about what I feed her, so I appreciate that this formula is grain-free with tender pieces in gravy and focuses on things like digestion, immune support, and skin and coat health.It’s been a nice option to have, especially when you’re trying to balance nutrition and something your cat will actually enjoy.

Easy packaging, great variety, quality morsels!
I love the convenience of tear open pouches and my cats love moist and meaty vittles, so optimal was everything we were looking for and more! The unique flavor combos and real ingredients made this variety pack the perfect choice! Kitties loved the real shrimp morsels and I loved the easy open & empty packaging! My older kitty prefers ‘soft’ chew foods over hard, so the adorable bite sized shapes were optimal for her. Bonus points for being grain free! Only imperfect part for us was that our younger kitty seems to not digest the rabbit variety well, each time she’s eaten that one, it comes back up; but that is only applicable to one of my two kitties and obviously not on the food itself. I’d say well worth the try if in market for a new wet food option to give your fur babies some new variety!!

I absolutely love these tear-off pouches for my cat food! The packaging is super convenient and mess free, which makes feeding time quick and easy. I don’t have to deal with bulky cans or leftovers just tear, pour, and toss.My cat took to it right away and seems to really enjoy the taste. The texture is perfect, and I like that it stays fresh in each individual pouch. Very good cat food
This cat food smells good, it has fairly large pieces (1 cm) and some gravy. My cat is very particular about food and he likes it. The container is easy to throw away not taking up room as the metal cans do.

Inconsistent quality control
I really want my cats to love this food! The texture is appealing with meaty pieces in gravy, but it’s been very inconsistent in practice. Sometimes they’ll eat it, other times they won’t touch it at all.I used to subscribe monthly to the variety pack, but eventually switched to only purchasing the salmon/shrimp flavor since my three (once-feral) rescue cats clearly preferred that over the others. Even the feral cat I feed outside will only take a few bites before walking away, which says a lot.The bigger issue, though, is quality control. The salmon/shrimp packets are very hit or miss when it comes to the actual shrimp. Some packets contain noticeable pieces of shrimp, while others seem to have little to none (see attached photo). For a product at this price point, that kind of inconsistency is disappointing.It has potential, but between the unpredictable palatability and inconsistent ingredients, I can’t rely on it the way I hoped to.

Great quality food in a purrfect portion
We recently tried this food as my cats like to have a lot of variety. It is a box of three different flavors containing a total of 12 pouches. The quality of the food is really good and each pouch holds quite a bit of wet food. It’s 3oz each but seems like more. It is a grain free non-GMO premium cat food that looks like something a human could consider eating lol. A couple of my cats are a little finicky, which is why it didn’t get five stars but otherwise it’s a great buy and is priced well.
