Beautiful Perch
This is a beautiful well made perch and makes a decorative addition to my porch. I have placed it close to and slightly above the feeder. In all transparency not one single bird has sat on it that I have seen but in my opinion it is their loss! One hummer pecked at the red ball and another flew around it as if giving it consideration. I shall jump with glee should I catch a hummer chilling on it while protecting their feeder. So, in summary, the perch is precious even if my hummers can’t recognize a good thing when they see it.UPDATE: the hummers now use the perch and it is the cutest thing ever. One bully might sit there protecting “his/her” feeder and heaven help should another hummer come by. Disturbing but fascinating!

The hummingbirds like it!
Do the hummingbirds like it? Yes they do! The simple and solid but pretty design of the swing was a perfect addition to my bird feeder setup and the birds think so too. I was lucky enough to catch a hummingbird checking out the red bead too!

What a pretty little swing. It seems of high quality, looks nicely handmade and very dainty- perfect small perch for tiny bird feet. It’s been hanging now with and without a “weather guard” for the better part of a month. So far I have not seen it being used by the one hummingbird that comes to my feeder about 4 times or more an hour. It may not be the swing’s fault- there are plenty of trees, the feeder has a perch, and funny enough he seems to like to perch on a nearby electrical wire to watch over “his feeder”. It’s placed approximately a foot away and facing toward the feeder as was recommended by the manufacturer.So why 4 stars? I didn’t want to give it 3 because I think it would work. However, until I see it being used for its intended purpose I’m not sure it was money well spent, though I’m happy with the product itself. It’s made beautiful decoration and that’s about it at this point, plus it seems I’m only feeding one male black chin so it may not be worth it for people in situations like mine. I’d say if your feeder hangs in an area where there is easy access to a clear view of your feeder for the bird(s) it may be a purchase you can skip. If you feed multiple humming or song birds it may be worth it and would likely be used. In my situation I’d love to see this swing be used by the birds- I will continue to keep my eye out and I would come back to change the star level if after some time it starts being utilized!*****UPDATE****modified May 2014. I hung the swing in October and it was too pretty to take down so I left it as decoration expecting that the Hummingbirds would never use it. I’ve changed my review to 5 stars. My dominant/territorial Hummingbird in the last 2 weeks has been utilizing the swing (which I never moved, and is close to the feeder) as one of their alternate perches (other than the electrical lines nearby) to keep watch over *their* feeder. I am thrilled with that!

They Actually Perch On It!
Very cute, and appears well made. Some reviews said they never saw any birds using it. We had hummers checking out our fur a couple days and then they started sitting on it. Very cool.

I purchased this as a gift. It’s super cute! I’m a little disappointed that it didn’t come with any kind of hook to attach it to a branch though, that’s my only complaint. Even without the hook I would likely purchase again.

Hummingbirds love a swing. They like to watch over their food supply and momma hummingbirds like to be able to monitor their young. These are worth every penny.

This came in very cute packaging–I almost wanted to keep for myself. It is sturdy, but dainty enough that it does not need to become a focal point should you not want it to. I gave it to a friend as a gift, and she adored it. I have seen this type of thing at garden stores, but I thought the quality of this one was much better than I have ever seen.

Really cute hummingbird perch. We had a yellow gold finch land on it. Hard to see on some branches so location is important if you want to watch. Lightweight.
