Quality construction, heavy, beautiful piece of driftwood
Beautiful piece of driftwood and a beautiful piece of art for my fish tank!! thank you! quality wood, very heavy, and sank easily into the tank. I had purchased a separate piece of driftwood from a local store that was similar looking to a piece of a stump. It’s very nice looking but even after boiling I couldn’t get it to sink. I have to hold it down with a rock. I only boiled this product twice for about an hour each. It definitely released a lot of tannins during boiling. my tank is nice and clear. Definitely a quality product. My electric blue acara, aka Cari, was very happy to be in every picture!! 🙂

Easy to get tannins out quickly
It was bigger than I thought but it is gorgeous. I took it with me to a fish store to look for a rock to go with it and I was stopped by three people saying how gorgeous it was and one person who worked at the store offered to buy it three times what I paid for it! Lol I only boiled it for 4 hours and for about 5 days I soaked it and my tank looks great

A lot of work to remove most of the tannins.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I needed a large piece of driftwood for my Axolotl aquarium with smooth edges and holes & this one looked perfect. I received it very well packaged and it looked perfect. The only drawback was I had to soak it for hours in salt & baking soda and boil it several times and soak it more. Instructions said this could take a week. I don’t know if I missed reading this or not, but it is very time consuming. I would have preferred this being done before I received the drift wood. I’m still soaking it bc the tannins are still a reddish brown and will color the aquarium water a dark color. The tannins are actually good for my Axolotls. I put almond leaves in my tank for my Axolotls but it just makes the water a light tea color. This driftwood would make it very dark. Size:LargeFunctionality:For Axolotls

Do not purchase this product!
This is a terrible product! After meticulously following instructions regarding preparation of wood the tannens continued to bleed through after multiple boilings and soaking. No instructions were included so I had them emailed. I just blew $28.00 and will not risk killing my fish. So disappointed!

The driftwood is an awesome addition to my tank. I recommend boiling it to avoid water discoloration. The piece was worth the price.

Wow, for the price this is an extremely nice piece of wood. Everybody’s complaining about having to soak it. That comes with the wood. I will be buying more I purchase two and I honestly was shocked when I opened the box and sell how large they were. They’re just getting ready now to go into a tank then boiling them most of the day.I love everything I have purchased from Hygger.

Updated: originally I got a piece that had too many broken edges and splinters but was immediately able to request a replacement, the replacement needed some light sanding but was much better….however, I’ve boiled this piece and soaked it everyday since I got it and it still leaches like the photo below. Not sure what to do now.

Nice looking piece of wood for Aquariums
I absolutely love this. My fish took to it right away and love it. One of my Cory’s went through it first I was shocked they never go through the wood pieces I had in the past they stayed at the bottom. My female Bettas love and I love watching them play so glad I decided to get this. Just so you know I soaked this wood in n hot water through out the day for two day. The water at first turned real dark burgundy. It stayed medium Burgundy for half the night keep changing the water after sitting for a few hours The water turned to a faint looking burgundy and then a tannish yellow the next day. When the water was clear enough for me then I put it in the 30 gallon tank with live plants looks absolutely beautiful.
