Pig-approved Cozy Hut
We tried this design because the “strawberries” (soft huts in the shape and design of a strawberry) the pigs love are great, but take FOREVER to dry after being washed. (They also have lost much of their structure and sag a bit after multiple washes.) These huts haven’t been through a wash and dry cycle, so we can’t comment on durability, but we’ll update the review with that info. Nobody has tried to chew on these or eat the foam, but the interior seams do show. (See pic of interior corner.)It took a little time for the pigs to trust them, but after placing a piece of fleece on the floor which had their scent, they really took to it.We got the larger size, as our pigs are average-sized adults (Penelope has the white nose), and our big fuzzy boy (brown agouti pig) has a serious waistline. It fits one pig with lots of room to spread out and turn around. I think they could accommodate two adult pigs (if they are friends and agree to share) comfortably, and even three or four youngsters (again, with friendly negotiation).The gray and blue-green outer covers are cute and the low-nap velour interior is easier to clean (brush out poop, hay, etc.) than faux fur or boucle fleece versions.The price for these is great, as well. The two-pack helps with swapping out for wash and dry cycles.I recommend these for pigs, and will update the review with info on durability and ease of washing/drying. Enjoy!

My prairie dog loves these. She spends a lot of time in tnem. I put hay and food in one and a little blanket in the other. The pattern and colors are cute. Durable and good size. Will buy again

Honestly I love these, but there’s two small things & I’d give 4.5 stars if I could instead.#1 One of the two of them had a small rip in the seam, not big enough to cause any kind of stink. #2 I was hoping they’d be a little more sturdy. That’s all, the guinea pigs love them, I’ve done a few washes & they held up just fine, although I suspect over time they’ll misshapen. I wash our pig beds frequently. You can see in the photo how it’s started to change shape, but with how sturdy the sides are I suspect it will be a non issue in the long run. *Don’t mind cocoa I woke her up when I turned the camera on 🙂

I was so happy to get these caves! They look like cute little tents. I gave one to my 2 female rats, and one to my 2 male rats. I like the size, because though it’s a little small for my bigger boys, they can snuggle up in it to stay warm during our cold winter nights, and it’s not taking over half the cage. The inside is soft, a little plush but not very thick.But these are definitely not very durable. My 2 females almost instantly trashed theirs by chewing another hole into the back end, and pulling out the thin foam layer. So I won’t be able to wash it and it’s pretty much destroyed. They don’t chew up their blankets or fleece lined hammock, which is made with thick, durable fabric. So I was disappointed that these caves aren’t as sturdy.My males seem to appreciate their cave and have chewed a couple small areas, but overall, seem to like it. When it’s time to clean these though, I’ll probably have to just toss them or they’ll surely fall apart in the wash.In conclusion, if you have pets that never chew on anything, this’ll work. If not, know that these caves won’t stand up.

These houses are on a smallish size, so if you have a monster pig they might struggle fitting in. My pigs are average-sized (1100 grams and 1300 grams in weight), so they just about fit in. But the houses are of good quality, they hold their shape after a wash better than others that I’ve had, so overall I am happy.
